Jobcenter Darmstadt and KJC of the district present rehapro VIT project
The Darmstadt Job Center and the Groß-Gerau District Job Center presented their joint project "Networking-Interaction-Participation (VIT)" on February 8th during SV Darmstadt 98's home game against Elversberg. Although the "Lilies" unfortunately suffered a defeat in the Second Bundesliga match, the conditions were perfect: glorious weather and an impressive atmosphere.
The VIT project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs as part of the federal program rehapro. Its focus is on innovative approaches to working with recipients of citizen's benefits, particularly those with mental health and/or addiction issues. The goal is to enable sustainable participation in the labour market through health stabilization.
Participants receive intensive, needs-based support to find their way back into society and working life. The principles of "helping people to help themselves" and "closing gaps in services" are central to this approach.
Numerous interested football fans visited the rehapro stand opposite the south stand to learn about the projects. Coaches from the various initiatives were present and explained their work. Project managers were also available to answer technical questions about the federal program and the projects themselves. Before the match, Darmstadt project manager Stefanie Pföhler and project coordinator Britta Sarwari presented the project in an interview with the stadium announcer, which was broadcast live on the stadium screen.
Britta Sarwari was delighted with the positive response: “It was wonderful to see how many football fans were interested in our projects and our work. As the job center network of Darmstadt and the Groß-Gerau district, it is a matter close to our hearts to offer people with health limitations a future and support their return to working life. A big thank you goes to SV Darmstadt 98 for the opportunity to present our work. We look forward to participating again next season.”
