The Hessian State Museum is exhibiting award-winning nature photographs
The Hessian State Museum Darmstadt (HLMD) held its first-ever photography competition in conjunction with the "Wildlife Photographer of the Year" exhibition. The winners in the "Adults" and "Children and Young People under 18" categories have now been announced.
The winning images: Fascinating nature photographs from Hesse and beyond

High participation in the public voting
The winners were not chosen by a jury, but by the visitors themselves. Over 2,400 people participated in the anonymous online vote and selected their favorites. Museum director Dr. Martin Faass was delighted with the high level of participation:
"We were overwhelmed by so many submissions and are glad that we didn't have to decide which of the fantastic photos should receive an award."
Particularly pleasing: Four of the winners come from Hesse , and many of the motifs were taken in the region – proof of the diversity of local nature .
