Hessian State Museum shows award -winning nature shots
The Hessian State Museum Darmstadt (HLMD) has organized its own photo competition for the first time on the occasion of the exhibition "Wildlife Photographer of the Year". Now the winners of the categories "Adults" and "Children and Adolescents under the age of 18" have been determined.
The winning pictures: fascinating nature shots from Hesse and beyond
From almost 500 entries, secure first place in the adult Jan Becker with his picture "Colorful Goldwespe (Hedychrum Rutilans) in the post settlement biotope in Darmstadt" Falk Heinzelmann took second place with "Be Water!" , While Andrea Hickler ends up in third place with "Bassölpel auf Helgoland"
For children and adolescents under the age of 18, the first place goes to Lina Becker , whose photo "a little break" shows a wasp on a flower In places two and three follow Michael Neumann with "vineyard snail" and Till Flotmann with his picture "robin" .
High participation in the audience voting
The winners were not determined by a jury, but by the visitors themselves. Over 2,400 people took part in the anonymous online voting and thus chose their favorites. Museum director Dr. Martin Faass was enthusiastic about the great participation:
"We were overwhelmed by so many submissions and are happy that we did not have to decide which of the fantastic photos should be awarded."
Particularly gratifying: four of the winners come from Hesse , and many of the motifs were recorded in the region - a proof of the diversity of domestic nature .
