Appointment reservation by phone or via the EAD customer portal
At the start of the garden season, the own company for municipal tasks and services of the Science City of Darmstadt (EAD) offers its free collection of green waste from Darmstadt private households from Monday, March 10, to and including Monday, April 28.
to make an appointment for collection by phone at 06151 13-46000 or online via the EAD customer portal www.portal.ead.darmstadt.de
The EAD recommends reserving appointments at an early stage because the above period contains an Easter break. The following points must be observed before collection:
- Please bundle shrub and branches up to ten centimeters in diameter and two meters in length with cords and provide the rest of the loose green section in paper bags or cardboard boxes until 6 a.m. on the agreed day of disposal.
- Please do without plastic bags and containers with wire or plastic cord, as these cannot be removed on the composting system.
Larger paper bags suitable for loose green waste are sold at the EAD recycling courtyard at a price of 0.70 euros each. The opening times are: Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Citizens can also acquire 70-liter bags for the Collection in the district administrations of Eberstadt and Wixhausen as well as in the city foyer in the new town hall on Luisenplatz. As before, the sacks and other green-straps are only taken away by the EAD for the time and occupational safety reasons for the registered garden waste collection-but not in the emptying.
Holz parts and rootsticks with a diameter of over ten centimeters are recorded separately, since they can damage the press mechanism of the EAD collection vehicles, among other things. Like all other compostable waste from Darmstadt private households, this Großholz can also be delivered free of charge on the composting system at Eckhardwiesenstraße 25. The opening times are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
