The museum association invites you to a walk through the historic landscape park
The Seeheim-Jugenheim Museum Association is participating in the "Week of Art and Culture in Goldschmidt Park" with a public guided tour through the historic park in Seeheim.
The event will take place on Sunday, May 31, 2026. It begins at 3 p.m. at the entrance on the steps in Villastraße. The tour will last approximately one hour.
Historic landscape park at the center
Goldschmidtpark originated in the 19th century from a vineyard and was designed as an English landscape park.
Over the years, the facility has been altered several times by different owners.
View of special park features
During the tour, typical elements of the historic park will be presented.
These include the villa, the park avenue, fountains, exotic tree structures and the so-called pleasure ground – a pleasure garden as an extension of the living spaces into the open air.
Particular attention is also paid to the striking columnar oak avenue, the baroque rose garden, and the park's sightlines with views into the landscape on the edge of the Odenwald and the Upper Rhine Graben.
Changes and challenges in the park
The guided tour also provides information about the development and changes of the park.
Topics discussed include past damage caused by robbery and destruction, as well as ongoing work to maintain paths, trees and sightlines.
The event is taking place as part of the activities of the Goldschmidt Park Support Association.
