Tonies, Edurino and tiptoi pens are now available
The Groß-Gerau city library is expanding its offerings to include innovative media for children and invites them to playfully discover the world of listening and learning.
Around 100 Tonie figures are now available for loan. These popular, colorful audio play figures are linked to stories, music, or learning materials and provide plenty of listening fun. The library also offers two Tonieboxes for loan, allowing children and families to try out the Tonies. "The demand for Tonies is huge – we're delighted with the fantastic response," explains Pamela Baer, head of the city library.
Learning through play
Another highlight is the new Edurino starter sets. These include an ergonomic pen and a figurine representing different learning worlds. Using the Edurino app, children aged 4 to 8 can playfully develop digital skills and important future competencies. The sets are specifically designed to introduce children to digital media responsibly.
The tiptoi collection, which has been an integral part of the library's media offerings for around ten years, has also been continuously expanded. In addition to the popular tiptoi books and games, two tiptoi pens are now available for loan. The tiptoi pen brings books and games to life: tapping on pictures or text triggers sounds, speech, or music, making learning particularly engaging. The selection covers topics for children aged two and up and is ideal for playful knowledge acquisition.
Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau emphasizes: “With the expansion of its offerings, the city library demonstrates once again how it responds to the needs of families in Groß-Gerau. The new media offer children the opportunity to learn playfully and at the same time gain access to modern technology.”
The city library cordially invites everyone to discover new media. The library is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Fridays from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The library is closed on Mondays.
