Enjoy regional food and celebrate together on the market square
On Sunday, October 5, 2025, the Groß-Gerau district invites you to the 25th District Farmers' Market on the market square from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The anniversary will be celebrated with regional specialties, music, a colorful children's program, and a Thanksgiving service.
Variety of regional products and country women's café
Visitors can expect a wide selection of products: fruit and vegetables, fresh herbs, flowers, homemade sausage, honey, smoked fish, liqueurs, goat cheese, and home-brewed beer. The Country Women's Café in the City Museum will be open, featuring a large cake counter, freshly baked waffles, and numerous homemade cakes.
Festive opening and musical program
The Thanksgiving service begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Groß-Gerau town church, accompanied by the Rural Women's Association guitar group. The market will be officially opened at 11 a.m. by the reigning Hessian Asparagus Queen Svea I and patron District Administrator Thomas Will. "The Fidelitys" and the TSG Worfelden brass band will provide musical accompaniment.
Activities for children and families
For the youngest guests, there will be pony rides, farm animals, a mobile play area run by the Auszeit association (from 2 p.m.), and duck fishing at the stand run by the Regional Farmers' Association and the District Administration.
Thanks to the organizers
The district farmers' market is organized by the Groß-Gerau district administration together with the Starkenburg Regional Farmers' Association, the Groß-Gerau District Farmers' Association, the trade association, and the district town of Groß-Gerau.
