Kolmer: "Even small green areas are of great importance for the cityscape"
In the immediate vicinity of the former honeycomb building, the science city of Darmstadt further enhances its city center. Two newly designed green areas are to be planted by the end of May - in time for the Schlossgrabenfest.
The existing bed under the large tree has been revised and receives a new planting with orbit -based perennials and grasses. For the optical connection with the surroundings, plant species from western bed were adopted. Onion plants like daffodils already ensure the first color accents in spring. Structural grasses also give the bed an appealing look in autumn and winter.
In addition, there is another green area between the former honeycomb and the pedestrian traffic light towards the state museum. Here, too, perennials and grasses are used. A small discount railing protects the new planting, while a granules mulch layer keeps moisture in the ground and makes care easier.
The work lasts about a week and should be completed to the Schlossgrabenfest.
Green -long -range, Michael Kolmer emphasizes the importance of such measures: "Even small green areas are of great importance for a living -worth and well -designed city. I am pleased that we are now working at this point that I have had in mind for a long time."
