EAD organizes drop-off on October 22nd and 23rd – Recycling Day in Wixhausen complements the offer
The municipal services department (EAD) will be conducting its mobile autumn collection of hazardous waste for Darmstadt households on Wednesday and Thursday, October 22nd and 23rd. Additionally, a recycling day will be offered for the first time in Wixhausen .
The mobile collection service is an additional option to the permanent collection point at Sensfelderweg 33. Residents can drop off items such as paints, thinners, wood and rust preservatives, spray cans, pesticides, mercury thermometers, and energy-saving light bulbs there. A maximum of 20 kilograms will be accepted per drop-off, and individual containers must not exceed 20 liters. It is important that hazardous waste is handed over exclusively to the staff of the mobile hazardous waste collection unit.
Dispersion paints, primers, adhesives, used oil, car batteries, and electronic waste are not accepted. For small commercial quantities, only the stationary collection point is available, which is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and every first Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Circulation Day in Wixhausen
On Recycling Day, bulky waste and discarded electrical appliances can be dropped off free of charge at the Bahnhofstraße/Seegartenstraße . Large items such as sofas or wall units will be collected free of charge by the EAD (Waste Management Authority) after prior arrangement via the service hotline 06151 13-46000 . Additionally, the "DAseinsMobil" mobile waste management unit will be offering on-site waste advice from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

- Arheilgen: Weiterstädter Straße (parking lot at the cemetery), 12–12:45 pm
- Wixhausen: Bahnhofstraße / Seegartenstraße, 2–3 pm
Thursday, October 23:
- Eberstadt: Palisadenstraße (entrance to cemetery), 8:30–9:30 a.m
- Eberstadt: Von-Ketteler-Straße / Carlo-Mierendorff-Straße, 10–11 a.m
- Heimstättensiedlung: Heimstättenweg / Pulverhäuserweg, 11:30–12:30
