City presents roadmap for climate-neutral heating by 2045
The City of Darmstadt invites its citizens to an information event on the future of its heat supply. Under the title "How will Darmstadt heat its city in the future?", will be presented on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, starting at 6 p.m. The event will take place in the Orangerie Darmstadt and is being organized in cooperation with ENTEGA AG.
Guidance for heating system planning
The municipal heat plan outlines how the heat supply in Darmstadt's individual districts climate-neutral by 2045 . It serves as a guide and decision-making aid for citizens who, for example, are planning a new heating system or wish to renovate their buildings to improve energy efficiency.
Michael Kolmer, head of urban planning and climate protection, emphasizes the importance of information: Many people are uncertain about heating. At the same time, questions of affordability, independence, and future security are playing an increasingly important role.
District heating, alternatives and next steps
The event will present the key findings of the heat planning. Topics will include which neighborhoods can be connected to district heating networks in the future , what alternatives are available, and what the next steps will be.
