Workshop discussion reveals solutions for climate-friendly heating
The city of Riedstadt reports that the workshop discussion "Heat Pumps in Old Buildings" at Goddelau Town Hall was very well received. Around 80 citizens learned about options for the energy transition in their own homes.
The focus was on the motto "Physics instead of fire". Renovation manager Benjamin Krick explained in his presentation how heat pumps work compared to conventional heating systems and what advantages they offer.
Practical examples from the region
The topic was made particularly clear through concrete examples from the region. One speaker demonstrated how a 1970s bungalow was modernized with a combination of an air-to-water heat pump, a photovoltaic system, a storage unit, and an electric car. This enabled a high degree of self-sufficiency.
Another example illustrated the use of an air-to-air heat pump in conjunction with insulation measures. The result: efficient heating operation with comparatively low costs and without additional heat sources.
High demand and many questions
The high level of interest continued even after the official end of the event. Numerous participants took the opportunity to ask further questions and clarify individual aspects in direct discussions.
The event made it clear that the topic of energy-efficient renovation and climate-friendly heating is becoming increasingly important in Riedstadt.
Further information and the presentations from the evening are available online.
