Road resurfacing in Eberstadt will last until the beginning of June
The city of Darmstadt will be resurfacing the Heidelberger Landstraße between Ulvenbergstraße and Kurt-Schumacher-Straße (north) starting Monday, May 18, 2026. The work is expected to be completed by Saturday, June 6.
The asphalt surface and road markings will be renewed
As part of the 2026 road rehabilitation program, the damaged asphalt surface will be renewed. In addition, the Mobility and Civil Engineering Office will modernize the drainage systems, road infrastructure, and road markings.
Full closure and detours
During the construction work, Heidelberger Landstraße will be completely closed in the affected area. The closure also extends to house number 371.
The sidewalks will remain open. Access for residents of properties at Heidelberger Landstraße 308 to 314 is only possible after prior arrangement with the construction company.
Traffic will be diverted over a large area:
- From the north via Ringstraße, Nußbaumallee, Fritz-Dächert-Weg and Eschelkopfweg
- From the south via Stresemannstraße, In der Kirchtanne, Seeheimer Straße and Ringstraße
Kurt-Schumacher-Straße is designated as a dead end when approaching from the south.
Costs of the measure
According to the city, the renovation costs amount to approximately 140,000 euros gross.
