Successes, emotions and top organization at the Nordbad – 83 podium finishes for DSW 1912 Darmstadt
From June 20th to 22nd, 2025, DSW 1912 Darmstadt the Hessian Swimming Championships and Hessian Age Group Championships – in perfect weather and with flawless organization at the Darmstadt North Pool fifth place in the medal standings among over 50 clubs , behind SG Frankfurt, Hofheimer SC, SCW Eschborn and SC Wiesbaden 1911.

In close cooperation with the Hessian Swimming Association (HSV), a thoroughly successful sporting event was achieved with high-class competitions, an information stand of the HSV youth and a much-appreciated visit from world champion Marco Koch (SG Frankfurt), who took time for talks and autographs.
18 titles for DSW's young talent
With 83 podium finishes , including 18 age group titles , DSW12 confirmed its strength in Hessian swimming:
Hessian age group champions 2025 from Darmstadt:
- Tom Howorka (2010): 100m freestyle, 50m freestyle
- Giovanna Vieten (2009): 400m Freestyle
- Vivian Wiegand (2014): 200m Individual Medley
- Miia Bartash (2013): 100m Freestyle
- Milena Auer (2009): 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle, 200m individual medley, 200m breaststroke ( also Hessian champion in the open class )
- Maja-Melina Volz (2007): 50m backstroke
- Oscar Proft (2015): 200m Freestyle
- Till Freytag (2008): 200m backstroke
- Lilly Schreiber (2014): 200m breaststroke
- Fabio Lanucara (2011): 100m and 200m breaststroke
- Nora Michalk (2013): 50m and 100m breaststroke

Further successes in numbers and names
Beyond the titles, many DSW swimmers also impressed with strong performances:
- Mila Kleinert: Silver (50m butterfly, youth final), Bronze (200m individual medley & 200m breaststroke)
- Jakob Werner: Silver (400m Individual Medley), Bronze (400m Freestyle)
- Sokrates Frutos Tzouvaras (2009): Bronze (50m & 200m Butterfly)
- Yahia Ghoneim (2010), Enya Behr (2009): each silver (400m freestyle)
- Lisa Schwartmann (2012): Bronze (1500m freestyle)
- Tom Howorka: Silver (50m backstroke) – after bronze at the German Junior Championships, also preparing for EYOF participation.
- DSW12 relays: Four silver medals in the 4×100m medley and freestyle relays (male & female)

Conclusion: Performance, passion, and a strong team
An eventful weekend full of emotion and top athletic performances – made possible by the support of numerous parents, helpers, and officials. DSW12 thanks the Hessian Swimming Association for the smooth cooperation and a swimming meet that set new standards.
