New signage improves traffic guidance for cyclists in the Heimstättensiedlung housing estate
Darmstadt-Heimstättensiedlung – At the initiative of the SPD Heimstättensiedlung, the signage on Heimstättenweg between the streets "Am Pelz" and "Haardtring" adjusted. Previously, cyclists were permitted to use the sidewalk. In the future, they must use the roadway exclusively – this is now indicated by clearly visible pictograms on the road.
Praise for the mobility department
“We are pleased that our request from the community was met with open ears by Mobility Commissioner Paul Wandrey and implemented quickly,” explains Rita Beller , chairwoman of the SPD local branch Heimstättensiedlung. As a volunteer city councilor, she also works with Wandrey on the city council.
The SPD considered the adjustment of the traffic flow an important step towards improving safety for all road users on this heavily used route. The new road markings are intended to provide greater clarity and prevent potential conflicts on the sidewalks.
Settlers' SPD focuses on citizen dialogue
The SPD Heimstättensiedlung sees itself as a driving force in local politics within the district. "We continue to prioritize direct communication with the residents," emphasizes Beller. A public consultation is planned for Monday, September 15th, at 6 p.m. in the VGH offices (Heimstättenweg 100) – together with members of the SPD city council group.
also be present at this year's Siedler-Kerb on September 7th and will participate in the parade .
