The city of Weiterstadt is asking residents for information
The town of Weiterstadt is reporting a suspected dog attack on several donkeys at Rotböll . According to the owners, the animals were likely attacked by one or more dogs on Sunday, January 25th.
One donkey suffered a severe nose injury, while another showed bite marks on its nose and hind leg. The affected animals are receiving veterinary treatment.
Traces indicate unauthorized entry onto the premises
Traces found in the snow indicated that both people and dogs had trespassed within the fenced donkey enclosure. The incident was reported to the police.
Donkeys are considered formidable animals and can corner and pursue dogs in serious situations. Such situations pose not only a significant risk of injury to the animals, but also an acute danger to the dogs' lives.
Information should be reported to the police or public order office
The city of Weiterstadt is asking for the public's help. Any information regarding people or dogs that were in the Rotböll area during the specified period should be reported to the police or the Weiterstadt public order office.
At the same time, the city points out the importance of keeping dogs on a leash and adhering to designated protected and grazing areas in order to protect people, animals and the environment.
