SV Darmstadt 98 took an important step towards securing their place in the league on Easter Sunday in front of their home crowd. The Lilies defeated Hannover 96 3-1 (1-0), impressing with their efficiency and fighting spirit.
Fraser Hornby sent the Böllenfalltor stadium into a frenzy after just 30 seconds: a swift counter-attack following a mistake by the visitors led to the early lead. Hannover only found their footing late in the game and managed to equalize in the 82nd minute – but Darmstadt responded immediately. Corredor headed home a pinpoint cross from Marseiler (84th minute), before Hornby sealed the victory with a penalty in stoppage time (90+2).
Three points, great emotions and a fantastic atmosphere at the Bölle – a home win with a powerful message. SV 98 can now mathematically secure their place in the league with their upcoming away game in Münster.
