EAD provides information on the correct disposal of electronic waste
An incorrectly sorted electrical device, which has recently triggered the fire brigade on the company premises of the own company for municipal tasks and services (EAD) of the Science City of Darmstadt, the EAD takes once again on how to properly dispose of such devices: in the electronic crop container, At the EAD recycling yard or in retail.
“The current incident proves how important the correct separation of waste can be. Those who properly dispose of this not only protect the environment, but also prevent people and machines from being damaged, ”says city treasurer André Schellenberg. “That is why citizens should dispose of their waste properly. In this case, the use went out quite lightly. But the false sorting of waste harbors some dangers. Unlovered, such parts can cause greater damage in recycling systems. In addition, the waste - in this case paper and the electrical device - must be disposed of as residual waste and cannot be recycled, ”Schellenberg concludes.
In the incident, smoke had formed in a vehicle that collects paper, cardboard and cardboard boxes. The driver tipped over half of the load on the EAD site so that the fire brigade could quickly extinguish the fire. Neither humans were injured in the incident nor damaged the vehicle. The fire caused an electrical device. The remaining parts indicate a battery vacuum cleaner.
The EAD recycling center is open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is located on the EAD site in Sensfelderweg 33 in Darmstadt.
