Wilhelm-Leuschner-Straße will be completely closed from June 29th in two construction phases
With the start of the Hessian summer holidays, Hessen Mobil will begin the complete reconstruction of the K 167 district road (Wilhelm-Leuschner-Straße) near Erzhausen. Construction work will begin on Monday, June 29th, and will be carried out under a full road closure due to the narrow road width.
The project will be implemented in two phases to minimize the impact on public transport.
First construction phase during the summer holidays
The first construction phase will run from June 29th to August 8th and covers the area between the entrance to Erzhausen and the junction with the southern ring road.
The detour leads from Wixhausen via Wolfsgartenallee, the Südliche Ringstraße, Annastraße and Bahnstraße back to the K 167. The parallel farm track and cycle path will remain usable throughout the entire construction period.
Changes to bus route WE1
The WE1 bus route is also affected by the construction work. During the summer holidays, the route coming from Gräfenhausen will be diverted via the southern ring road, Annastraße and Bahnstraße.
The "Hessenplatz" and "Lessingstraße" bus stops will be closed during this period. Replacement stops will be set up on Annastraße near house numbers 7 and 14. Additionally, the "Am Ohlenberg" bus stop in the direction of Gräfenhausen will be relocated to Südliche Ringstraße.
Current timetable information can be found at DADINA .
Second construction phase during the autumn holidays
The work will then continue during the Hessian autumn school holidays from October 3rd to 18th. The second construction phase extends from the southern ring road to the district border at the junction "Außerhalb 3".
The detour then leads from the south via Trinkbornstraße to Wixhausen, then via Hindemithstraße to the B3 (Frankfurter Landstraße) and then via Bahnstraße back to Erzhausen.
Hessen Mobil will provide separate information on the details of this construction phase in due course.
The road surface will be completely renewed
As part of the renovation, the road surface will be completely renewed over a total length of 645 meters. The existing asphalt pavement will be completely removed.
A new, 15 centimeter thick gravel protection layer is then installed before a new asphalt base and asphalt surface layer is applied.
The construction costs amount to approximately 475,000 euros and are borne by the district of Darmstadt-Dieburg.
