Primary schools create exhibition with fantastic creatures
The Hessian State Museum Darmstadt (HLMD) is calling on primary and special needs schools as well as after-school programs to participate in the "Kids Make Museums!" . Following its successful premiere in 2024, the participatory project is now entering its second round.
Under the theme "Fantastic Creatures," children can create a collaborative artwork. Registration is open until September 26, 2025 – all information can be found on the museum's website at www.hlmd.de
The submitted works will be presented in a special exhibition at the Karl Freund Gallery of the State Museum April 19 to May 3, 2026. class trips , for example to the Darmstadt State Theatre or the Vivarium . In addition, all participating children will receive an exhibition catalog as a memento.
With this competition, the HLMD is adopting an idea from the Museum Kunstpalast, where the project has been successfully implemented since 2020. The aim is to give children an early, playful introduction to art and provide them with space for creativity.
