Workshops for children aged 8 to 12 on August 31st – concluding at the TIP Theatre
On Sunday, August 31, 2025, the first KU-KI-FEE Festival (Culture & Children's Festival) will launch in Darmstadt. This new cultural format is aimed at children between 8 and 12 years old and seeks to playfully introduce young people to art, culture, and community. The festival is organized by the association "Reading and Culture for All e.V." in cooperation with the Darmstadt Adult Education Center and the TIP Theater at the Pädagogium (Education Center).
The festival offers six parallel workshops from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., led by experienced artists and educators. The workshops range from theater, dance, and circus arts to creative writing, pantomime, and photography and film. Participation costs €36 per child.
Finally, the children will present their results on the stage of the TIP Theater. All courses are held in the accessible premises of the Darmstadt Adult Education Center (VHS Darmstadt).
Creative workshops for all interests
The following courses are available:
- Pantomime in the theater with Klaus Lavies
- Photography and film art with Andreas Noack
- Modern dance with Katrin Schyns
- Circus acrobatics with Andreas Funk
- Creative writing and dramatic reading with Felicitas Göbel
- Magic Clowns with Jorgi Slimistinos
Felicitas Göbel, chairwoman of the association "Reading and Culture for All eV", explains: "Through play and creativity, we learn about each other in a cultural community." The aim of the association is to strengthen education, reading promotion and cultural participation across generations.
The KU-KI-FEE Festival is sponsored by Sparkasse Darmstadt and Bürgerstiftung Darmstadt.
