Guitarist Wolfgang Mayer will play music from four centuries in St. Martin's Church starting at 5 p.m
Guitarist Wolfgang Mayer will perform his program "La Guitarra pura" at St. Martin's Church in Pfungstadt on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 5 p.m. The Evangelical Church of Pfungstadt invites you to the concert, which combines music from approximately 400 years of guitar history.
The program features works and composers who have shaped the history of the guitar. These include Mauro Giuliani and the Spanish guitarist and composer Francisco Tárrega. Mayer will also perform compositions dedicated to the guitarist Andrés Segovia.

Familiar melodies are also on the program, including "El Cóndor Pasa" by Daniel Alomía Robles. Further pieces and musical surprises will complement the journey through the history of the guitar.
Wolfgang Mayer studied in Munich and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and also completed vocal training. He has been performing as a concert artist for more than 25 years. According to the Evangelical Church community, he last performed in Pfungstadt five years ago.
The concert “La Guitarra pura” is presented in cooperation with the South Hesse Cultural Summer Festival.
