Anonymous donor supports purchase of a new fire engine
Reinheim. The city of Reinheim recently experienced an extraordinary surprise: A member of the community donated the impressive sum of 100,000 euros – a civic engagement rarely seen in this form.
For privacy reasons, the donor wishes to remain anonymous. Nevertheless, Mayor Manuel Feick the importance of making the donation public:
"This was and remains important to me for two reasons: to maintain the transparency of our work and our budget, and to highlight this special commitment. Something like this is rare these days, and I am infinitely grateful for it."
The donation was audited and recorded in accordance with the applicable administrative procedures using the six-eyes principle – consisting of the municipal administration, the financial administration, and the city treasury.
100,000 euros for the Georgenhausen-Zeilhard fire department
The generous donation will go toward the purchase of a new firefighting vehicle specifically equipped for fighting forest and vegetation fires tank fire engine of the Georgenhausen-Zeilhard Fire Department in the coming years .
Various possible uses for the donation were discussed beforehand. The final decision was made in favor of the fire department—with the express wish that the money be used within the Georgenhausen and Zeilhard districts
“I was very touched when the donor told me that she wanted to give something back to the city because she has always felt at home here and appreciates the city’s work,” reports Mayor Feick.
Approval by the City Council
The acceptance of the donation was reviewed by both the Fulda tax office and the municipal supervisory authority . The tax office confirmed the tax-exempt donation , and the supervisory authority also raised no concerns.
The city council ultimately approved the donation unanimously .
This extraordinary donation not only makes a significant contribution to the safety and efficiency of the Reinheim Volunteer Fire Department , but also sends a strong signal of solidarity with the city and its citizens .
