From 27 August, the area of Feldstraße/Geinsheimer Straße will be completely closed – cars can again use the ferry at Kornsand
Construction work on the Leeheim town center is entering the next phase. According to the city of Riedstadt, the first construction phase on Feldstraße is being completed. Starting Wednesday, August 27, 2025, the full closure at the corner of Kammerhofweg will be lifted. At the same time, the second construction phase will begin: The area of Feldstraße and the corner of Geinsheimer Straße will be completely closed.
The medical practice of Dr. U. Nerger / Dott. N. Tsague will then be accessible via Erfelder Straße and Kammerhofweg. The restaurants in this construction phase will also remain accessible, at least via a short footpath.
Rhine ferry and restaurants at Kornsand accessible
Regardless of the construction work, Rheinfähre Landskrone GmbH would like to point out that the ferry at Kornsand is once again accessible to cars and motorcycles. With the lifting of the road closure at the town exit toward Geinsheim, access via Leeheim and the L3096 is once again possible.
Detours through Leeheim allow vehicles—except trucks—to travel to Geinsheim and back. This also allows access to Leeheim's restaurants. A large-scale detour remains in place for heavy goods vehicles.
Signs throughout the town indicate the current traffic routing. The project website www.ortsdurchfahrt-leeheim.de about the detours and construction phases.
