The Groß-Gerau district administration advises seeking information and advice early on
that questions concerning legal guardianship and advance directives can affect people of all ages. The aim is to provide information and advice early on, before acute emergencies arise.
“Our goal is to encourage people to think about preventative care early on,” says Monica Schol-Tadic , head of the Social Medicine Department in the Health and Prevention Division of the Groß-Gerau district administration. “We want to move away from simply managing cases and towards providing more advice.”
When legal guardianship may become necessary
Legal guardianship may be necessary in very different life situations. These include age-related illnesses such as dementia, serious accidents or health limitations, but also situations in which people are no longer able to manage their own legal affairs due to addiction or mental health problems.
“We recommend getting informed early so that everything doesn’t come crashing down on you at once due to an unforeseen emergency,” said Schol-Tadic.
