No food deliveries after 3 p.m. – NGG demands collective bargaining with parent company
Pizza, fries, burgers, kebabs, and so much more – all delivered quickly to your door by drivers. But the 6,000 employees in Germany are paid without a collective bargaining agreement. Lieferando's parent company, Just Eat Takeaway, refuses to enter into collective bargaining negotiations.
The Food, Beverages and Catering Union (NGG) therefore took drastic action. From 3 p.m. on Thursday (the 17th), no drivers in Darmstadt set out on their e-bikes. No food was delivered in Mainz, Frankfurt, or Offenbach either. Lieferando has been ignoring the issue for two years, says Anna Langensiepen, managing director of the NGG Rhine-Main branch. "Especially after the high inflation of recent years, a collective bargaining agreement is long overdue."
