Earlier course changes are expected to significantly reduce noise pollution
Last week, the new departure route "Cindy S" went into operation at Frankfurt Airport . It replaces the previous route "Amtix kurz" and is based on extensive noise calculations that predict a lower impact on the affected regions .
especially for the residents of Weiterstadt and the Gräfenhausen district . According to calculations, an earlier course change towards Erzhausen will increase the flight altitude over densely populated areas , resulting in measurably lower noise pollution .
Mayor Ralf Möller calls for participation
Ralf Möller, mayor of Weiterstadt and chairman of the aircraft noise commission, welcomes the introduction of the new route:
“We have been advocating for this change for years. Now it is important that we not only rely on calculations, but also receive feedback from the public. I therefore invite all citizens to tell us whether the new route has a noticeable impact on the noise situation.”
Noise measurement planned over twelve months
To objectively assess the actual impact on the noise situation , a twelve-month measurement phase along the new route has been announced. Initial results are expected to be presented to the flight noise commission and other relevant bodies after six months
