Auction on October 24th for the first time at the new location on Frankfurter Straße
More than 40 bicycles, including several e-bikes, as well as numerous lost and found items will go under the hammer in Darmstadt on Saturday, October 24, 2026. The lost and found office of the city of Darmstadt is holding its next auction for the first time at its new location at Frankfurter Straße 73. It begins at 11:00 a.m. City treasurer André Schellenberg will conduct the auction.
The auction will take place in the building's courtyard. Access is via Alsfelder Straße. In addition to bicycles, numerous items that were handed in to the lost and found office and remain unclaimed will be offered for sale.
From umbrellas to e-scooters
The event kicks off at 11 a.m. with an auction of various lost and found items. Among the items for sale are umbrellas, bags, backpacks, glasses, jewelry, and clothing.
This time, there are also some more unusual items. For example, fins and swimming goggles from the Nordbad swimming pool will be auctioned off. In addition, three e-scooters will go under the hammer.
The auction will be conducted by city treasurer André Schellenberg, who is also responsible for managing the revenue.
More than 40 bicycles will be auctioned off
Following the sale of lost and found items, the bicycle auction will begin around noon. More than 40 found bicycles will be available, including models for women, men, and children.
Several e-bikes are also available. According to the city, the condition of the bicycles varies, ranging from well-maintained bikes to those primarily suitable for hobbyists or tinkerers.
All bicycles offered for sale have been previously checked by the police.
