Miriam Schöpf's horror play premieres on May 22, 2026
The drama studio at TU Darmstadt will stage the play "Loud Shadows" in May 2026. The premiere will take place on Friday, May 22nd, at 8 pm, with another performance on Sunday, May 24th, also at 8 pm.
The approximately 70-minute performance is aimed at audiences aged 12 and up and combines elements of horror theatre with music and shadow play. The focus is on a seemingly perfect new apartment where eerie events gradually unfold.
The main character encounters a mysterious girl who lives in the shadows and is pursued by a monster. While those around them dismiss the events as mere figments of the imagination, evidence increasingly points to a menacing reality. The play raises questions about trust, perception, and how we deal with our own fears.
In "Loud Shadows," author and director Miriam Schöpf explores the themes of accepting one's own dark sides and breaking free from stressful situations. The production is accompanied by atmospheric singing and choreographic elements.
