Sustainable play area with a new climbing cube and natural character
The playground on Marienplatz has reopened for children and families just in time for the start of the Easter holidays after extensive renovations . The newly designed area is now open for climbing, playing, and running around.
A particular highlight is the refurbished climbing cube , which was taken from another playground and reused in the spirit of sustainability. The ping-pong table was also repaired, and the area underneath it was repaved .
New materials for increased play value and ease of care
Instead of sand, the play area was covered with wood chips . These not only provide a natural playing experience but are also particularly easy to maintain . Wooden and stone borders further enhance the natural appearance of the centrally located playground.
Head of Parks and Green Spaces Michael Kolmer emphasizes:
“I am delighted that the Marienplatz playground can now be used again for climbing and playing after such a long time. The improvements to the play area combine sustainability with play value. I would like to thank all the children and families for their patience.”
