Sustainable play area with a new climbing cube and natural character
The playground on Marienplatz has reopened for children and families just in time for the start of the Easter holidays after extensive renovations . The newly designed area is now open for climbing, playing, and running around.
A particular highlight is the refurbished climbing cube , which was taken from another playground and reused in the spirit of sustainability. The ping-pong table was also repaired, and the area underneath it was repaved.
New materials for increased play value and ease of care
Instead of sand, the play area was covered with wood chips . These not only provide a natural playing experiencebut are also particularly easy to maintain. Wooden and stone borders further enhance the natural appearance of the centrally located playground.
Head of Parks and Green Spaces Michael Kolmer emphasizes:
“I am delighted that the Marienplatz playground can now be used again for climbing and playing after such a long time. The improvements to the play area combine sustainability with play value. I would like to thank all the children and families for their patience.”
