The entire daycare team is certified as Marte Meo Practitioners
The municipality of Nauheim is strengthening the quality of early childhood education: The entire team of the Nauheim forest kindergarten has successfully completed the Marte Meo® Practitioner . This marks the first time in Nauheim that an entire daycare team has been trained together using this internationally recognized method.
"Marte Meo" roughly translates to "by one's own strength." The method uses short video recordings from everyday life in daycare centers to highlight successful moments of communication and interaction. The goal is to support children and educators in recognizing and developing their own resources and experiencing security and self-efficacy.
Video analysis as a tool in everyday kindergarten life
Marte Meo has been used in Nauheim's municipal daycare centers for some time now. The advanced training of the forest kindergarten has now marked another milestone. Certification was carried out in-house by Faid Cekalla , an employee of the Family and Education Support Department of the municipality of Nauheim. She is a trained Marte Meo therapist, peer trainer, and supervisor in training, and she supported the team over several months.
The training focused on short, everyday situations from daily life in a daycare setting. Using video recordings, the staff learned to specifically recognize the children's strengths and existing skills and to derive appropriate support for further developmental steps. The focus was on the children's resources and on successful communication within the group.
Strengthening pedagogical attitude and quality
The training program started on March 20, 2025, under the motto "Supporting Development and Developing Support" and ended on January 19, 2026, with a final presentation and the awarding of certificates. Among those present were department head Maximiliaan Immoos and Mayor Marc Friedrich .
“The certification is the result of many months of collaborative work, reflection, and a willingness to learn – in addition to the daily routine of the daycare center,” summarizes Faid Cekalla. Mayor Marc Friedrich was also impressed: Marte Meo is an important tool for quality development that combines practical relevance with in-depth expertise and sustainably strengthens pedagogical teams.
The municipality of Nauheim announces that it will soon provide further training in the Marte Meo method to additional educational professionals in municipal facilities.
