Science company is committed to running and promoting young talent
The long-established Darmstadt City Run its first title sponsor in its 47th edition on June 25, 2025 : The Darmstadt-based science and technology company Merck will be the main partner of the event, which is one of the oldest city runs in Germany.
The cooperation was recently agreed upon between the organizing club ASC Darmstadt , the event agency wus-media UG , and Merck KGaA . The aim of the partnership is not only to provide financial support for the city run, but also to promote children and young people through formats such as the school run and the children's run .
Return of a committed partner
Maxi Nieber , responsible for sports sponsorship at Merck, explains:
“We are delighted to be part of this special event again. The city run promotes enthusiasm for running and brings the community together. It is particularly important to us to offer young people a platform for sporting participation through our own races.”
The organizers also welcome the return of their long-standing partner. Wilfried Raatz , head of the city run, sees the cooperation as an opportunity for further development:
"Merck was already an important partner in previous years. Together we want to further refine the event and set new standards."
Michael Heist , board member for sports at ASC Darmstadt, adds:
“It’s great that Merck is once again supporting the city’s sports event – that sends a strong signal.”
Merck continues its consistent commitment to running sports
The title sponsorship of the city run complements Merck's existing commitment, such as the Merck Corporate Run in May – the city's largest running event.
Maxi Nieber emphasizes:
"Supporting the city run completes our overall package. We look forward to an unforgettable running event – together with the participants, spectators, and partners."
The Darmstadt City Run will once again take place in the city center June 25, 2025. Further information regarding start times and routes will follow shortly.
