City library receives over 600 new children's and youth books
As the city of Groß-Gerau reports, the city library was able to significantly expand its media offer for children and young people. This was made possible by a grant from the state of Hesse, with which over 600 new books were purchased. The popular non -fiction series “Discover - the series with the owl” of nature and animal publisher is particularly represented.
This book series is aimed at children from the age of nine and combined well-founded knowledge with exciting topics such as wolves, penguins, beetles, volcanoes, weather phenomena or the Amazon rainforest. The content is supplemented by high-quality photographs and the comic character Xabi, an owl that leads through the volumes with humorous comments and surprising facts. At the end of each book, a quiz invites you to a playful test of the learned.
Pamela Baer, head of the Groß-Gerau city library, emphasizes: "We are very happy that with this series of books we can make our offer for inquisitive children even more attractive.
Interested children and parents are invited to discover and borrow the new books on site. The city library is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Fridays from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Further information can be found on the website of the city of Groß-Gerau at www.gross-gerau.de .
