City library receives over 600 new children's and young adult books
The city of Groß-Gerau has announced that its public library has significantly expanded its media offerings for children and young people. This was made possible by a grant from the state of Hesse, which enabled the purchase of over 600 new books. The popular non-fiction series "Discover – The Series with the Owl" from the Natur und Tier publishing house is particularly well-represented.
This book series is aimed at children aged nine and up and combines in-depth knowledge with exciting topics such as wolves, penguins, beetles, volcanoes, weather phenomena, and the Amazon rainforest. The content is complemented by high-quality photographs and the comic character Xabi, an owl who guides readers through the books with humorous commentary and surprising facts. At the end of each book, a quiz invites readers to playfully test their knowledge.
Pamela Baer, head of the Groß-Gerau city library, emphasizes: "We are delighted that this book series allows us to make our offerings even more attractive for inquisitive children. The books are not only exciting reading material, but also a valuable resource for school presentations."
Interested children and parents are invited to discover and borrow the new books on site. The city library is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and Fridays from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Further information can be found on the city of Groß-Gerau's website at www.gross-gerau.de .
