Renovation in Mühltal on the home stretch
The renovation of the Mühltal swimming pool is nearing completion. According to those in charge, the construction work is largely finished.
In the coming weeks, the focus will be on the design of the outdoor areas, technical test runs, and training for safe bathing operations.
Safety takes priority
A specific date for the reopening has not yet been announced.
The reasons for this include outstanding inspections of the construction work, final test runs of the new swimming pool technology, and staff training.
Once these works are completed, the renovated outdoor swimming pool will reopen to visitors.
Weather and supply problems delayed construction work
According to the statement, the work was made more difficult by the weather in winter and spring.
In particular, longer periods of frost and the damp weather conditions delayed the earthworks and concrete work in the outdoor facilities.
In addition, there were supply problems with safety-relevant building materials. Among the causes cited were the effects of the geopolitical situation.
Listed bathroom technically modernized
According to those in charge, there were also particular challenges in the renovation of the listed outdoor swimming pool.
This included the brickwork and the reconstruction of the historic pool surround.
After completion of the renovation, the Mühltalbad swimming pool will be barrier-free and energy-optimized.
