Successful French comedy returns to the stage
The BüchnerBühne Riedstadt is including the French comedy "The First Name" in its repertoire once again.
The performances will take place on Friday, May 29th, and Saturday, May 30th, at 7:30 pm at the venue located at Kirchstraße 16 in Leeheim. According to the organizers, a few tickets are still available.
The most successful play of the Büchner stage
“The First Name” is considered the most successful play to date by the BüchnerBühne since the Leeheim location was established.
The story became known in Germany primarily through the 2018 film adaptation of the same name by Sönke Wortmann. However, it is based on a French play by the authors Mathieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patellière.
Family evening gets out of control
The story centers on a seemingly harmonious evening with good food and wine at the home of a literature professor.
The situation escalates when host brother Vincent reveals the planned name of his unborn son: Adolphe.
The discussion about the controversial name is developing into an emotional confrontation about family secrets, repressed conflicts, and old wounds.
The theater café opens earlier
The theatre café opens one hour before the performance begins. The play is performed without an intermission.
Tickets cost 20 euros, reduced price 17 euros for members of BüchnerFindetStatt.
Tickets are available online via BüchnerFindetStatt and at several advance ticket outlets in the region. Tickets cost €23 at the door.
Further performances planned for August
After the theater's summer break, "The First Name" is scheduled to be performed one last time in Riedstadt on August 28th and 29th. Tickets are already on sale for this performance.
