Cooperation with the Albrecht-Dürer-School promotes environmental awareness and participation
In a joint project between the Albrecht-Dürer-School and the Weiterstadt city administration, students have designed creative stickers for city trash cans . The aim of the project was to actively involve young people in shaping their environment – with a focus on cleanliness, community, and responsibility .
Under the guidance of teachers Selma Dogan and Nora Schmöckel, numerous imaginative designs were created. A jury of representatives from the school and the city ultimately awarded prizes to three particularly successful works. The winners were:
- Nisanur Cekircek (9th grade)
- Marlene Hamm (7th grade)
- Mara Unruh (7th grade)
The awards ceremony took place during the festive school festival at the Albrecht-Dürer-School . Mayor Ralf Möller presented the winners and all participants with small gifts, including vouchers for the indoor swimming pool and the Weiterstadt municipal cinema .
"The students have shown with great passion and creativity that cleanliness in our city is important to them," said Möller. "Projects like these are not only fun, but also demonstrate how important participation and responsibility are at a young age."
The three winning designs will be placed on public waste bins after the summer holidays and are intended to motivate people to dispose of their waste correctly .
