Around 70 volunteers are committed to keeping the city clean – the city thanks all the helpers
Around 70 citizens from all parts of the city participated in this year's citywide litter collection campaign with great enthusiasm. A total of approximately 7.5 cubic meters of litter – about 700 kilograms – was collected and properly disposed of. The city thanks all the volunteers and environmental stewards for their commitment to a clean environment.
Mountains of garbage in difficult-to-access terrain

A particularly littered section of the Flachsgraben stream near Gräfenhausen presented a challenge for the volunteers. In addition to bulky waste, they found old clothes and several used tires. A considerable amount of waste also accumulated at various glass recycling container sites – including three carloads of collected garbage.

Volunteers of all ages participated – from children to senior citizens. Mayor Ralf Möller praised the initiative: "What was accomplished today throughout Weiterstadt demonstrates a real commitment to our environment. I thank everyone who took part – your efforts make our city a more livable place."
Joint conclusion at the town hall
To conclude the event, the city invited all participants to a barbecue at the town hall – as a thank you for their hard work. Special praise was also given to the environmental stewards who are active year-round and continuously work to keep Weiterstadt clean.
