Funding still available for 2025 – applications accepted on an ongoing basis
District of Groß-Gerau. This year, the district of Groß-Gerau is again providing targeted support for nature conservation and landscape management Funding will continue to be available in 2025 to make concrete contributions to the protection of nature and biodiversity.
Eligible measures at a glance
A wide range of projects are being funded, including:
- Installation of nesting aids for birds and bats
- Creation of amphibian ponds or habitats for lizards
- Creation or enhancement of biotopes such as orchards, extensive meadows and hedgerows
- Landscape maintenance work with a sustainable maintenance concept, including the purchase or rental of suitable equipment.
The aim is to strengthen nature and species conservation on both a small and a larger scale.
Already supported over 100 projects in the district
Since the funding program was launched in 2016, approximately 100 applications have been received from 44 initiatives and individuals . Projects that have received funding include:
- the planting of more than 390 trees
- over 250 nesting boxes for birds and bats
- numerous insect hotels
- Habitat maintenance measures using native plant species
The district's lower nature conservation authority emphasizes that every measure – whether large or small – can make a valuable contribution to preserving natural diversity.
