Funding still available for 2025 – applications accepted on an ongoing basis
Groß-Gerau District. This year, the Groß-Gerau District continues to support targeted measures in the field of nature conservation and landscape management . Dedicated individuals, clubs, and organizations are invited to submit their planned projects. Funding remains available to make concrete contributions to the protection of nature and biodiversity.
Overview of eligible measures
A wide range of projects are supported, including:
- Installing nesting aids for birds and bats
- Creation of amphibian waters or habitats for lizards
- New development or improvement of biotopes such as orchards, extensive meadows and field woodlands
- Landscape maintenance work with a sustainable maintenance concept, including purchase or rental of suitable equipment
The aim is to strengthen nature and species conservation on both a small and large scale.
Already supported over 100 projects in the district
Since the funding program launched in 2016, approximately 100 applications have been received from 44 initiatives and private individuals . Funding has included:
- the planting of more than 390 trees
- over 250 nesting boxes for birds and bats
- numerous insect hotels
- Biotope care measures with native plant species
The district's nature conservation authority emphasizes that every measure – whether large or small – can make a valuable contribution to preserving natural diversity.
