Darmstadt is investing in modern sports infrastructure with a double -story hall
The magistrate of the science city of Darmstadt has decided to build a new 2-time 2-time-3 field sports hall in the Bürgerpark. The new hall replaces both the Bürgerparkhalle and the rolling hall and will be built at the previous location of the rolling hall.
Mayor Hanno Benz , who is also a sports director of the city, emphasizes the importance of the project: “Our goal is to implement this project with the greatest possible economy and at the same time ensure high quality and functionality. The new roll sports hall secures school and club sports in Darmstadt in the long term and increases the attractiveness of the sports location for competitions and tournaments. ”
Functional new building with multifunctional use
The planning provides for a triple sports hall with special facilities for rolling, BMX and ball sports . The division is as follows:
- Earth floor : 3-field hall (45 x 22 meters) with excessive tracks for rolling sports and an additional area for BMX sports
- Upper floor : support-free 3-field hall (45 x 22 meters), which is used for school and club sports

Funding and economic implementation
For the new building, federal funds of six million euros used, which were originally intended for the Bürgerparkhalle. Compared to previous plans, the total cost was reduced by ten million euros
