Dr. Astrid Mannes as guest
On Friday, January 3rd, the CDU-Eberstadt celebrated its 55th traditional New Year's reception in the Ernst-Ludwig-Saal with numerous guests from politics, voluntary work and society.

CDU Member of Parliament Dr. Astrid Mannes delivered the keynote address on this occasion. She emphasized the extent of her work for the citizens of Eberstadt during the last legislative period, citing examples such as her commitment to comprehensive noise protection and her efforts to reduce bureaucracy. Looking ahead to the upcoming federal election, she stressed the need for a change in German politics: "The economy is in ruins, the government has long been incapable of taking action, unemployment is rising, and our democracy is increasingly at risk." She argued that it is now essential to address the economic challenges created by the current coalition government, to value hard work, and to prioritize security, which has been severely neglected over the past three years. This, she asserted, would be best achieved with a large CDU majority.
The program was moderated by Peter Franz, CDU member of the state parliament and chairman of the CDU Eberstadt, with musical accompaniment by pianist Cagla Gürsoy. Afterwards, the citizens of Eberstadt had the opportunity to speak with the member of the Bundestag, the member of the state parliament, and local politicians from Eberstadt during a social gathering.
