Fundraising campaign enables support for the Keller Ranch for African wildcats
The Old School youth center in Gräfenhausen is once again supporting animal welfare and has taken on another animal sponsorship with Kellerranch eV. Following previous sponsorships of a pastel fox, coatis, and skunks, the young people are now sponsoring two African servals, Monroe and Alwin-Flame.
Fundraising campaign at the Christmas market makes sponsorship possible
The financial foundation for the new sponsorship was laid during a waffle sale at the Gräfenhausen Christmas market . The young people raised a total of 255 euros , which they have now donated to the Kellerranch to support the enclosure of the two wildcats.
“We are proud to be able to contribute to animal welfare with our donation. It is impressive how much work the Kellerranch invests in the care of the animals,” said a spokesperson for the youth center.
A visit to the Keller Ranch leaves a lasting impression
During a field trip, the young people were able to experience the Keller Ranch and its inhabitants up close . On site, Karl-Heinz Keller explained the background of the animal rescue , bureaucratic challenges, care costs, and the importance of species-appropriate husbandry. Monroe and Alwin-Flame , originally from private ownership, came to Weiterstadt via a zoo and a rescue center and now share a species-appropriate enclosure on the ranch.
Commitment to animal welfare
The young people hope their efforts will motivate others to sponsor animals or support the organization . Information about Kellerranch and the various support options can be found at:
