With the storming of the media ship, the Weiterstadt carnival clubs will kick off the peak of the carnival season on Saturday, January 17, 2026. The festivities traditionally begin at 11:11 a.m.After the symbolic dethroning of Mayor Niklas Gehnich , the revelers' takeover will be duly celebrated.
Storming of the city library
The media ship will be boarded at the entrance of the city library, Darmstädter Straße 40, also at 11:11 a.m.If the boarding is successful , food, drinks, music, and a lively atmosphere will be provided. The event marks the official start of the carnival season in Weiterstadt.
