The Groß-Gerau cinema event becomes a cultural summer highlight
Groß-Gerau. A radiant summer evening, a historic setting, and a great film: More than 400 visitors enjoyed an atmospheric open-air cinema in the courtyard of Dornberg Castle . The open-air film weekend took place for the fifth time since 2021 and the second time in a row – and has long since established itself as a fixture in the city's cultural calendar.
In front of the imposing castle facade, a ten-by-five-meter screen provided a true open-air cinema experience. The event was organized by the city of Groß-Gerau in cooperation with the Lichtspielhaus cinema and the Cinebar Groß-Gerau .
Two film evenings with a great response
On Friday evening, the musical film "Better Man – The Robbie Williams Story" , attracting around 160 visitors. On Saturday, (Beautiful), "Wunderschöner – around 250 guests came to enjoy the open-air cinematic experience.
“We are delighted with over 400 guests over the two days – this impressively demonstrates the importance of events like this in Groß-Gerau,” said Anja and Frank Wenz from the Lichtspielhaus cinema. They were also particularly pleased with the support from local businesses, who promoted the event with advertisements in the 15-minute pre-show .
Culinary delights and sense of community
In addition to the cinematic art, the physical well-being of the audience was also well catered for: The StreetBackBoys served oven-fresh tarte flambée, the cinema team offered popcorn and drinks , and the Gelatissimo ice cream factory complemented the offering with a charming Fiat 500 ice cream van.
Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau praised the collaboration:
