A riddle game, Hessian dialect, and thanks to dedicated members characterized the evening.
As the Odenwald Club Groß-Gerau (OWK) reports, members and friends celebrated their fourth annual apple wine festival . More than 40 guests attended and enjoyed a convivial evening with culinary specialties, a quiz, and a performance by the Astheim Country Women's Association.

OWK Chairman Wolfgang Schmall and Ina Kohrs welcomed the guests. Under the motto "An apple a day keeps the doctor away!" – in Hessian dialect: "Eat an apple a day and your doctor will be poor" – each visitor received an apple from a large basket as a welcome gift.
Hildegard Lochmüller added a special touch by preparing a handmade apple-shaped box filled with sweets for everyone present.
In his speech, Schmall emphasized the importance of the volunteers' commitment. Reiner Dietz and Annerose Kohlhaas presented small gifts as a token of appreciation to those who had made a special contribution to club life and the clubhouse.
Mystery surrounding 1,356 pumpkin seeds creates suspense
A guessing game attracted a lot of attention: Participants were asked to guess how many pumpkin seeds were in a large glass jar. Ina Kohrs finally revealed the answer – 1,356 seeds filled the jar.
The winners included Manfred Christ , Rosel Wolk , René Gogesch , Heinz Pitzer , Reinhold Rauch , and Roland Schuster , who were delighted with their attractively packaged prizes. These came from, among others, the Herbert butcher shop , the Horst cheese dairy , and Grunau beverages .
Dialect, music and a sweet ending
Another highlight of the evening was the performance by the Astheim Country Women's Association , who presented humorous skits in Hessian dialect. Neo Kohrs .
The sweet finale was homemade cakes baked by Ina Kohrs and Doris Heisel-Neumann , which quickly found many takers. The convivial evening concluded with brief closing remarks from Ina Kohrs and Wolfgang Schmall.
