On Saturday, November 29, 2025 , the Darmstadt secondhand store KAGEL (Pallaswiesenstraße 122) invites visitors to its annual Christmas market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors can enjoy coffee and cake , make candles , and discover sustainable gift ideas for the upcoming Christmas season while browsing the secondhand selection .
“The Christmas season also demonstrates how important conscious consumption is. At KAGEL, we want to show that sustainability and a festive atmosphere can go hand in hand,” says City Treasurer André Schellenberg.
KAGEL sees itself as a place for sustainable consumption and a lived circular economy. It accepts donations of goods and clothing suitable for resale and, if needed, picks them up in Darmstadt using its recycling service . Household clearances, partial cleanouts, and assistance with carrying and transporting items can also be conveniently booked online.
