Enjoyable tour in the sunshine with a stop at the animal sanctuary
The cycling group of the Odenwald Club (OWK) Groß-Gerau recently undertook a roughly 38-kilometer tour to the Lipp asparagus farm in Weiterstadt. In perfect spring weather, 21 participants set off, led by Martin Dammel and supported by Manfred Göbel and Birgit Jüngling.
The starting point was the shelter at the Mönchbruchschneise. From there, the route led via Worfelden and the Braunshardter Tännchen through blooming landscapes to the asparagus farm. Along the way, colorful flowers and birdsong provided a close-to-nature experience.
Upon reaching their destination, the group enjoyed a convivial meal in the courtyard restaurant. Besides the culinary delights, the focus was also on exchanging ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.
Visit to the Keller Ranch
On the return journey, the group stopped at the Keller Ranch – an animal sanctuary near Weiterstadt. They explored the spacious enclosures with ponies, goats, and other animals with great interest. The route then continued via Klein-Gerau and Groß-Gerau to Nauheim. They even spotted a deer in a field along the way.
At the end of the tour, the participants thanked the organizers for the excellent event. The OWK cyclists returned home safely after a sunny day filled with memorable experiences.
