Three days of music, theatre and family program with free admission
The program for the "Volk im Schloss" festival in the Groß-Gerau district has been finalized: From August 21st to 23rd, 2026, the grounds around Dornberg Castle will once again be transformed into a large open-air stage with music, theater, and family activities. As in previous years, admission remains free.
International acts and regional bands
Musically, visitors can expect a diverse lineup. Bands already announced include New Model Army, Heavysaurus, and The Robbie Experience.
New additions to the program include Young Rebel Set with indie folk-rock, the Belgian band NAFT, and Revolte Tanzbein from Frankfurt.
Regional acts are also represented: The Whitebinders traditionally open the festival. On Sunday, PFUND, among others, will provide the musical finale.
Program for children and families
In addition to the music program, the festival is also specifically aimed at families. For children, the program includes Heavysaurus, interactive concerts with herrH, and other activities and events.
Cabaret, theatre and international artists
Cabaret and theatre are also integral parts of the festival. Performers at the cabaret conference include Thomas Freitag, Meigl Hoffmann, and Fee Badenius.
Also participating are the BüchnerBühne Riedstadt theater company and international artists such as Teatro Só. The program is complemented by an artistic show by Jana Vogel.
Festival for everyone – free admission
"Volk im Schloss" offers a cross-genre mix of music, theater, comedy, and participatory activities. The goal is to make culture accessible to everyone – regardless of income.
The festival is part of the South Hesse cultural summer and is supported by, among others, the state of Hesse and cultural foundations.
