Exhibition opening for the European week on April 30th / cooperation with partner city Tauragė
As part of the European Christmas, the city of Riedstadt shows photo art from its Lithuanian twin -city city of Taurag. On Wednesday, April 30th, an exhibition by the photo artist Vytauta's Butkus will open at 6:30 p.m. in the art gallery at the Büchnerhaus. The artist is at home in Tauragė and combines landscape and architecture photography with impressive portraits from rural and urban habitats- both from Lithuania and international trips.
Butkus already exhibited his works in Lithuania, Poland, Kaliningrad and the USA. He was awarded several awards for his work, most recently in 2023 with a prize of the Lithuanian Ministry of Environment in the international competition "Thoughts of Living Earth".
The exhibition is a cooperation between the municipal cultural office with the partnership association "Friends of Tauragė", the partner association "Friends of Germany" in Tauragė and the European Network Hesse. The works are accessible during the opening times of the cultural office (Monday to Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.) and the Büchnerhaus (Thursday to Sunday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.).
In addition to this, the Goddelau outdoor pool shows an exhibition of another Lithuanian artist with large -format insect photographs as part of the swimming pool opening.
