As the city of Weiterstadt announces, the city library you to an afternoon full of stories on Friday, November 21, 2025, starting at 2:30 p.m. , as part of the nationwide reading day
Lively reading sessions for children and families
All children, families, and anyone interested are invited to experience a special afternoon of reading and listening at the Media Ship. Throughout the afternoon, the library team will turns reading aloud from various books , demonstrating different reading techniques that bring stories to life.
Germany's biggest reading day
The National Reading Day is a joint initiative of DIE ZEIT , the Reading Foundation , and Deutsche Bahn . It is considered Germany's largest reading festival and takes place every year on the third Friday in November – in 2025 for the 22nd time .
This day of action sends a clear message about the importance of reading aloud. It allows children and adults to discover new worlds, promotes language comprehension , strengthens reading skills , and encourages conversation .
