The science city of Darmstadt is renewing approximately 3,000 square meters of roadway – traffic disruptions are possible
The city of Darmstadt will be renovating the intersection of Martin-Luther-King-Ring and Arheilger Straße July 21st to approximately August 1st, 2025. The project involves completely renewing the asphalt surface over an area of approximately 3,000 square meters . The damaged surface will be milled off and then resurfaced. The construction costs are estimated at around €220,000 .
The roadway of Martin-Luther-King-Ring towards Kranichsteiner Straße was modernized in previous years. The current project aims to complete the renovation work in the intersection area.
Changed traffic routing during the construction period
During the works, the connection from Frankfurter Straße towards Kranichsteiner Straße open to traffic. In the opposite direction, Martin-Luther-King-Ring will be . A detour will be in place via Kranichsteiner Straße and Rhönring .
Arheilger Straße is also
- It will be open from the junction with Marburger Straße as well as
- Closed from the direction of the ice rink in a northerly direction (intersection Martin-Luther-King-Ring) .
The detour also runs via the Rhönring . In addition, Schreberweg will be closed from the intersection Am Nordbahnhof street inaccessible during the construction period .
Restrictions for pedestrian and bicycle traffic
The intersection cannot be crossed by pedestrians or cyclists. A detour via Frankfurter Straße will be set up and signposted.
