25 clubs present their offerings around the sports centre – event in conjunction with the fire brigade's open day
Reinheim hosted its first-ever "Day of Clubs," . Around the sports center, the skate park, the beach volleyball court, and the fire station, visitors were able to explore the diverse offerings of Reinheim's clubs and try out numerous activities.
The premiere was combined with the fire department's open house. Mayor Manuel Feick and Gerhard Keller, chairman of the organizing team, opened the event. Afterwards, the participating clubs presented themselves with information booths and interactive activities.
From light shooting to spinning
The program showcased the breadth of Reinheim's club life. At the "Waldeslust" shooting club, visitors could try laser shooting, while the RSC Reinheim offered spinning classes. At the TV 1888 sports club, visitors could, among other things, measure their own shooting and throwing speed.
The trombone choir provided musical insights, and visitors could try out various instruments. At their stands, the clubs also provided information about their regular activities and opportunities to get involved.
There were also several activities for children. The fire department offered face painting, a bouncy castle, and fire hose drills, among other things. The FrauenFreiRäume family center offered glitter tattoos.
Mayor Manuel Feick also took the opportunity to try out various offers and talk to the club members.
Feick advocates for a repeat performance
“I think it’s fantastic how many clubs participated in the premiere and showcased everything our club life has to offer,” said Feick. He added that it was particularly positive that visitors could easily talk to the clubs and try out many of the activities firsthand.
The mayor also expressed his support for holding the Day of Clubs regularly in the future.
The fire department offered a selection of food and drinks during the event. This included grilled food, waffles and ice cream, as well as cakes and tarts.
According to the organizers, combining the first "Day of Clubs" with the fire department's simultaneous open house proved successful. The participating clubs also expressed positive feedback on the new event format and many requested a repeat performance.
Approximately a quarter of the Reinheim clubs are involved
According to the organizers, the 25 participating clubs represented about a quarter of all Reinheim clubs at the premiere event. They hope to attract even more clubs for a future event.
The first day of clubs thus offered an overview of some of the sporting, musical and social activities in Reinheim – and could take place again in the future following the positive response.
